This invitational group show will present a remarkable assortment of artwork created with recycled materials\, co-curated by Valley Art Center Assistant Director & Gallery Manager Julie Polsinelli and The Gallery at Lakeland Community College Gallery Coordinator/Exhibition Curator/Installation Designer Mary Urbas. The exhibition will showcase the extraordinary talent of Northeast Ohio artists who embody the spirit of creativity\, resourcefulness\, and environmental consciousness. \nFrom September 8 to October 18\, visitors will be immersed in an assortment of artwork crafted exclusively from recycled materials\, proving that beauty can be found in even the most unexpected places.\nArtists from all corners of the creative world have embraced the challenge of transforming discarded objects into astonishing works of art. Marvel at sculptures meticulously fashioned from scrap metal\, witness intricate collages brought to life from found objects\, and explore the many possibilities of repurposed materials that push the boundaries of artistic expression. \nAs a part of Contemporary Debris\, Valley Art Center’s façade will be adorned with a stunning recycled wall sculpture from Ron Shelton\, which will have a second life following its creation in Riverside Park in April. Ron Shelton\, a Cleveland-based artist known for his remarkable sculptures made from recycled materials\, brings his talent and passion for environmental sustainability to this project. DESCRIPTION:North Union Farmers Market is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates certified\, producer-only farmers markets. We run several farmers market each week during the height of Ohio’s season. Since opening in 1995\, North Union has offered Clevelanders and Northeast Ohioans something to which they previously did not have access – healthy\, fresh\, local produce sold directly by farmers.\n\nNorth Union runs certified producers-only markets. What does that mean?\nEach vendor undergoes an onsite farm inspection. Each farm submits a crop list and site plan in the application process after their farm certification. Certification requires lease or ownership records\, seed receipts\, number of acres under production\, site location\, and approximate harvest. Everything is confirmed by our trained staff.

Author Ian Fleming was on the hunt for a name to call his hero when he came upon a bird book by Philadelphia ornithologist James Bond. The rest is history. Today there are nearly one-million people who carry the name. Not all are happy with their secondhand claim to fame. Some don’t mind\, including a Swedish James Bond who is a 007 impersonator and founder of a museum honoring the famous spy and a British woman who took the name to throw an abusive ex-husband off her trail.
