The exhibit was created to inspire critical thinking\, compassion\, and support for the millions of people who have been forced to flee their homes due to war\, climate\, violence\, and persecution. The art exhibit contains 34 refugee-themed paintings that “cross borders” and connect with one another.\nThe documentary film “Breathe Free” will also be shown during the evening. It provides a visual journey of this art exhibit alongside first-person accounts shared by refugees who have made the United States their home. Both the exhibit and film have touched the hearts of thousands while being seen in galleries\, schools\, community centers\, and theaters across the United States.\nOpen to all. Author Ian Fleming was on the hunt for a name to call his hero when he came upon a bird book by Philadelphia ornithologist James Bond. The rest is history. Today there are nearly one-million people who carry the name. Not all are happy with their secondhand claim to fame. Some don’t mind\, including a Swedish James Bond who is a 007 impersonator and founder of a museum honoring the famous spy and a British woman who took the name to throw an abusive ex-husband off her trail.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Chagrin Falls Historical Society & Museum as we commemorate the 45th Anniversary of The Gathering\, the 1977 holiday classic which was filmed in Chagrin Falls starred Ed Asner and Maureen Stapleton. This made- for-tv movie was about a dying executive who arranges a final Christmas reunion with his estranged wife and adult children. \nOn Wednesday\, December 14th at 6:30pm\, join us in our Bo Burr Community Room to watch the film\, and a DVD of the 30th anniversary reunion in Chagrin Falls from 2007. There will also be an opportunity to share your memories of the movie being filmed here. Refreshments will be provided\, this is a free event but donations are appreciated.
