SUMMARY:Author Signing: Susan Bagby
DESCRIPTION:Susan Bagby\, author of Home for Love\, will sign books on November 26th from 1-3 pm. \nABOUT THE BOOK: The life of Emmy-award-winning producer\, Maggy Anderson\, is abruptly interrupted when her father suffers a heart attack at his office in New York. She wastes no time leaving Los Angeles to be with him. Jim Anderson\, an entertainment and publishing mogul\, survives the surgery and returns to his family estate in the Berkshires to recuperate. Maggy insists on helping him out at home and with his business while her primetime television show\, LA Docs\, a medical drama\, is on hiatus. But Maggy is thrown off her game when unexpected chemistry with her father’s doctor\, Mark Richards\, jolts her into a tailspin. Mark recently took over a private practice in the small town of Maple Ridge and has secrets of his own stemming from his tours in Afghanistan and challenges of PTSD that still haunt him. But day after day\, circumstances bring them together unexpectedly\, and their feelings for each other grow stronger and cannot be denied. Unable to avoid him and faced with the reality of almost losing her father\, Maggy finds herself at a crossroads\, questioning her happiness and choices in life\, and feels further challenged when she discovers the contents of her mother’s prayer box in the attic. \nABOUT THE AUTHOR: For more than 25 years Susan Bagby worked with children and youth as a speech and language pathologist\, teacher and administrator of non-profit organizations for youth. As a previous songwriter for Rondor Music International her credits include “The Magical Future(R)”\, the official anthem for the inaugural National Children’s Day as well as “One Voice One Light\,” the official song for the Children’s Torch of Hope tour during the many UN50 events. She is co-author of the Magical Future(R) Songbook and Magical Future(R)\, both children’s books\, to be released as self-published this fall. She is a member of RWA

SUMMARY:Elf\, The Musical - Encore!
DESCRIPTION:In 2022\, CVLT broke box office records by selling out the entire run of “Elf\, the Musical” before the curtain had risen on opening night! Audiences raved\, but many were disappointed at being unable to get a ticket. This year for Christmas\, we’re giving you a gift: Buddy is back! CVLT presents this encore production with many of the cast returning\, including John Kolar in the title role. \nAdapted from one of the most beloved modern Christmas movies\, “Elf the Musical” transforms the story (originally a vehicle for actor Will Farrell) into a theatrical holiday treat for the whole family. “Elf” features songs by the Tony Award nominated Matthew Sklar and Chad Beguelin (Disney’s Aladdin on Broadway\, The Wedding Singer) and a script by Tony Award winners Thomas Meehan (Annie\, The Producers\, Hairspray) and Bob Martin (The Drowsy Chaperone). The New York Times called it “splashy\, peppy\, sugar-sprinkled holiday entertainment!” and Variety said “ELF is happy enough for families\, savvy enough for city kids and plenty smart for adults!” \nChagrin Valley Little Theatre’s production runs weekends from November 17 through December 17\, with performances on Fridays\, Saturdays and select Sundays. Evening performances begin at 7:30 PM on Fridays Nov. 17 & 24\, Dec. 1\, 8 & 15 as well as Saturdays Nov. 25\, & Dec. 9. Matinees at 2 PM on Saturdays Nov. 18\, Dec. 2 & 16\, and Sundays Nov. 26\, Dec. 3\, 10\, & 17. Tickets are $21 with a $4 discount for students\, seniors\, and military. Advance reservations and early arrival are highly recommended\, as sellouts are anticipated once again! \nNOVEMBER 26 – FRIENDS OF WOMENSAFE SPONSORED PERFORMANCE\nJunction Auto Family is sponsoring the 11/26 performance as a fundraiser for Friends of WomenSafe. Free refreshments and cookies included. This performance’s free concessions provided by WomenSafe.
